Who are we?

Who we are and how we work, is integral to both our success, and the challenges we face. It can be tough on your own, and we are keen to support you to do, and contribute, what matters most to you.

Academic Advice Aoteoroa was developed in September 2022 by Kath McPherson.

Kath has many years experience of working in the health and tertiary education. She was a Professor at AUT from 2004 to 2022, Deputy Vice Chancellor at AUT through a time of immense change and challenge, and she has also been Chief Executive of the Health Research Council of New Zealand (2015-2019). In addition to continuing her own academic work, Kath contributes in a number of governance and voluntary roles. Kath is keen to engage with people and teams who need advice or support to progress their work, their ideas, their contribution.
